Respiratory physiotherapy in Marrakech: breathing better every day
Published on by Elite Physio Centre · Reading time: about 5 minutes
Breathing should be a gesture you forget. When the bronchi get congested — a productive cough that lingers, breathlessness on exertion, infections that keep coming back — every breath takes effort. Respiratory physiotherapy helps clear the airways, strengthen the muscles used for breathing and restore freer breathing.
At the Guéliz centre, in Marrakech, it supports people with bronchitis, COPD, persistent bronchial congestion or recovering from a respiratory infection, alongside their medical follow-up. Learn more about our respiratory physiotherapy.

Who is it for?
Acute or chronic bronchitis. When a productive cough settles in and secretions struggle to clear, drainage helps the bronchi free themselves.
COPD and chronic respiratory conditions. Respiratory rehabilitation aims to improve breathing capacity, strengthen the respiratory muscles and better manage everyday breathlessness.
Persistent bronchial congestion. After a cold or an infection, a feeling of a loaded chest can linger: drainage techniques help clear the secretions that remain.
Recovery after a respiratory infection. Flu, pneumonia or bronchial infection: once the acute phase has passed and with your doctor's agreement, respiratory physiotherapy helps you gradually regain your breath.
How does a session work?
The first visit starts with an interview that includes assessments and tests, to properly frame the treatment: your respiratory history, your current treatments, listening to your breathing and evaluating your breath and cough.
The session then combines drainage techniques (postural drainage, vibrations, assisted cough), breathing exercises — diaphragmatic breathing, slow exhalation — and strengthening of the respiratory muscles, with advice for home.
Each physiotherapy session lasts 45 minutes. The number of sessions depends on your case and your progress, and is decided with you.
⚠ Good to know
See your doctor without delay in case of persistent fever, breathlessness at rest, chest pain or blood in your sputum: these signs call for prompt medical advice.
After the session: keeping your breath
Drink water, rest and practise the breathing exercises advised during the session: a few minutes a day are often enough to maintain progress.
Avoid smoke, dust and strong fragrances as much as possible in the hours that follow, and tell the practitioner about any change — worsening cough, fever, unusual fatigue — rather than waiting for the next session.
